Aims of Our School
Our Mission Statement is 'WORKING AND LEARNING TOGETHER!’
The School aims to provide a safe, happy, caring environment where each child is valued as an individual and encouraged to achieve their full potential regardless of their gender, race, creed, ability or background. We aim to achieve this through the following principles. Each child is entitled to stimulating and interesting learning experiences based upon a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum matched to each child’s ability. We shall support or challenge according to each individual’s need.
The vital tools of numeracy and literacy are emphasised in all areas of schoolwork. The skills of enquiry, research and communication are developed to enable the children to make sense of an increasingly complex scientific and technological world.
Children will be encouraged to develop an aesthetic awareness of art, music and drama and appreciate its
contribution to life.
Opportunities will be provided for consideration of ethical, moral and spiritual issues within the lives of the children. Through a knowledge of their environment, the children will develop their sense of belonging to both a local community and the wider global village.
Children will learn to respect others and listen to others’ views as well as be able to put forward their own ideas in a reasoned and courteous manner. We will encourage a sense of responsibility in the children towards themselves and their surroundings.
Participation in a range of physical activities, both individually and in a team, will enable the children to grow and develop skills, dexterity and co-operation with their peers. Linked to knowledge of healthy living, exercise and a participation in sports will help to encourage a future healthy life-style.
Children's learning will be supported by appropriate resources both in terms of suitable well-maintained
equipment and personnel time from within school and from outside agencies.
The cornerstone of these aims is the establishment and maintenance of a close home/school
relationship to ensure each child succeeds in reaching his/ her potential.
